Hi @aetll.

I’m A, but keep it secret. I don’t have to live up to an image. My voice is lower, I’m shorter than expected; I’m happier.

It’s my initials. Instagram’s my portfolio. I’m a freelance photographer for modelling agencies, blogshops.

I wanted to design fashion. I’d cut, sew up vintage clothes. They were ridiculous, unwearable. I’d use them for shoots.

Process?

I’m a conceptual, fashion photographer. I close my eyes, listen to music, buy crap from Daiso. What do I see, can I do?

I want models to feel comfortable, beautiful. I’ll look at them in real life, the viewfinder. “Can you think of this?” It controls reaction. I’ll touch their face, feel warmth, trust.

I used to cut 1000 to 50 photos. I shoot less now. How does this make me feel? My photos must elicit feelings.

Clients say my portraits are soft, intimate, expressive. I like to show the vulnerable, “good” side in everyone.

Beauty is…

I love old style. @UnclesWithStyle.

Unique, unusual, alien. I like asian faces, models of colour. They must know how to look at the camera. Confidence. Fierce gaze.

Everyone’s a photographer.

You can’t just buy a camera and call yourself a photographer. Know Photoshop, equipment, composition. Photography shouldn’t be for Instagram likes.

BTS creatives as “influencers.”

It helped me. Before work, people knew me for style. It was easier for them to appreciate my work.

Tips to be you.

Show passion. Practice. Share your work. Be open to critique. Grow. Set goals. Don’t give up. Be confident. No one has done exactly what I’ve done. My photos defend themselves.

Next?

Save up to shoot more international models in Vietnam, London, New York. Assist for a known photographer. Join a, start my own studio.
